Artist's Description
Thought I would do a portrait of Maya Angelou to pay homage to her amazing life. She has been so many things in her lifetime, a celebrated poet, memoirist, novelist, educator, dramatist, producer, actress, historian, filmmaker, and civil rights activist. Dr. Angelou has received over 30 honorary degrees and is Reynolds Professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University. One of my favorite quotes from her is "Nothing will work unless you do".
